How long are the walks?

Distance of the walks is a mile to a mile and a half, over a period of 2 to 3 hours, depending on the location.

What type of terrain do we cover?

Our walks take place on nature trails that are primarily flat.  Walks are suitable for all fitness levels.

Is weather a factor?

Forest bathing walks take place rain or shine, since light rain can provide a lovely sensory experience.  However, in the event of heavy rain or hazardous conditions, walks will be cancelled.

How should I dress?

Be sure to dress for the weather and temperature.  Wear adequate layers since you won't be working up a sweat.  Hiking boots are not required, but comfortable walking shoes and socks are a must.

What should I bring?

Bring enough bottled water to stay hydrated for the duration, and carry insect repellent and sunblock when appropriate.  A day pack can come in handy but is not required.

Will there be refreshments?

We end each walk with a tea ceremony, where you'll enjoy tea made from local plants, along with some healthy snacks.

What is the minimum age?

Participants must be at least 15 years old; anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

When does registration close?

Registration for walks closes 24 hours in advance.

Where can I find detailed information about the walks?

Detailed information about each walk is listed on the Eventbrite registration page.  Participants will also receive an email with details upon registration.

What is the cancellation policy?

Participants may cancel up to 48 hours before the walk begins for a full refund.  If the walk is cancelled for any reason by Roots in Nature, registrants will receive a full refund.

How do I register for a walk?

Public walks are posted on Eventbrite with registration links.

Are cell phones allowed?

Participants are asked to turn their phones off for the duration of the session to encourage full immersion in the experience and minimize distractions. Photos will be permitted at the end of the session; however, we ask that you respect the privacy of other participants.
